Westminster Warriors kept the pressure on the top of the table when they beat the Medway park crusaders 82-66 at Moberly Sports centre.
Warriors had a lot to prove after they previously lost to Medway in the Patrons cup the very first game of the season when they were without centre's Warren Adams and Jeremy Bennet. However, Under 18’s powerhouse Eliandro Inacio stepped up to prove he is more than capable of playing for the senior squad by pulling down 10 rebounds along with 4 points when ask to replace 6’9 Jeremy Bennet who was unable to play.
Warrior’s assistant coach and Life President Steve Alexander commented saying, “This is what we are about! We want to push the younger players through to the senior side to give them experience and get them ready for men’s basketball”
Player coach Jay Williams was also happy with the performance of Inacio praising his hard work on the glass and said, “That’s what we needed from the young fella and he delivered, I gave him the starter’s job because I knew he would do exactly what I asked him to from playing physical defence on the oppositions centre to rebounding the ball”.
Luke Baker had another outstanding game hitting all of his 10 points in the second half with a variation on 3 pointes and powerful drives to the basket.
Mantas Staskus had to be taken to hospital after Medways Brad Smith caught him with an elbow and broke his nose, we wish him a speedy recovery!
